What brings the GW Real Estate team together? The obvious answer is our passion for real estate, which is — of course — true. However, you may not realize that coming in a close second is our love for Charlotte’s growing restaurant scene. Team dinners have been a beloved tradition since we opened the firm doors five years ago. While we each have our individual favorites, we always look forward to trying the new spots around the neighborhood. So, here are our most anticipated new restaurant openings and where you will find us this fall…

Catalina Kitchen + Bar

This casual, upscale restaurant focused on American fare will be the newest addition to Elizabeth on Seventh. NFL legend Mike Ditka’s restaurant group is behind the concept and plans to open this week with lunch and dinner offerings. With The Crunkleton, Puerta, Rosemont Market & Wine Bar, and now Catalina Kitchen + Bar, this is quickly becoming our favorite corner in the neighborhood!

Address: 1942 East 7th St. in Elizabeth

Chapter 6

The sixth restaurant by noted Charlotte restaurateur Jon Dressler, Chapter 6 will showcase Western Mediterranean flavors from its SouthEnd location overlooking the Rail Trail. After research trips to Spain and Morocco, we can expect a refined menu of small plates and sharable entrees like seafood towers and tagines.

Address: 2151 Hawkins St. in SouthEnd

Coquette

Just opened in early September, Coquette brings the French countryside to Uptown Charlotte with authentic dishes like oysters, cheese boards, and duck-fat fried chicken. Owner and founder of Mother Earth Group Jill Marcus says the restaurant “will be like being invited into a quaint French home with real food–no foam or small portions, but plenty of butter. Julia Childs would feel at home here.” You had us at butter!

Leluia Hall

With its setting in a historic church in the heart of Dilworth, Leluia Hall will be more than a restaurant, it will be a dining experience. Restaurateurs Jeff Tonidandel and Jamie Brown of Supperland and Ever Andalo will turn this former Bonterra spot into a surf-and-turf restaurant with family-style, shareable dishes, a raw bar program, and prime cuts of steak.

Address: 1829 Cleveland Ave. in Dilworth

L’Ostrica

LʼOstrica will first open as a chef’s market concept, serving fresh pasta, snacks, salads, dips, soups, sandwiches, and sweets, as well as wine and produce from local farms. Later, the restaurant will begin to offer intimate tasting menu dinners with 8 to 10 courses created from seasonally available ingredients. Sign us up for both the market and tasting menu — we’re ready!

Muraya

A tapas restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, Muraya’s menu will feature traditional Colombian dishes with a twist. You’ll also find a bar and lounge with an old-fashioned flare reminiscent of Cartagena, Colombia. With one of the owners of the wildly-popular Madison Park restaurant El Puro at the helm, this is sure to be a hit with Charlotteans!

Pizza Baby

Everyone loves pizza and everyone is certain to love New York-style pizza from Charlotte chef Trey Wilson even more. The team behind Flour Shop opened its doors in booming Wesley Heights at the end of August. They are already getting rave reviews so we can’t wait to give it a try ourselves. Plus, be on the lookout for a second Pizza Baby location in Elizabeth later this year.

Address: 2135 Thrift Rd. in Wesley Heights

Sixty Vines

Texas-based restaurant Sixty Vines just opened its first North Carolina location in the Vantage SouthEnd building. As the name suggests, the wine-centric restaurant offers 60 wines on tap as well as cider, beer, and cocktails. With ample space inside and out, including outdoor seating for 350 people, enjoy wine pours by the flight, glass, or bottle, as well as sharable plates and entrees.

3rd & Fernwood

Local restaurateurs Subrina Collier and James Beard-nominated chef Greg Collier’s latest culinary venture is set to open in the re-vamped Metropolitan later this year. The menu may not be finalized yet, but we already know it will be amazing with its “approachable” dishes such as fried chicken thigh sandwiches, grilled catfish, and three-cheese mac. The owners of Leah and Louise and Uptown Yolk never disappoint!

Address: 1100 Metropolitan Ave. in Midtown
